Linkydink time! Cascade Yarns has a free patterns section on their site. I think I’ll be posting links like this under “patterns” so that people who click on that category will be able to pull up–patterns. I want to make this site useful for people who visit us!

Retro!

I’ve dug up some of my mom’s knitting mags from the 70s and 80s. Some of this stuff is rich: cabled pantsuits!! Full-length dresses! I am going to have such a great time with this.

Picture!

This is the teddy bear I knitted for my favorite coworker’s baby shower. He and his wife were totally tickled.

Since no one has posted here for ages, including me (and I was the last one to post), I thought I’d put something knitworthy on here, to [...]

Stuck with sock pattern

OK, I’m working with Cat Bordhi’s “Socks Soar on Circular Needles” book, trying to make my first sock ever, and working on the Simple Sock pattern.
Done so far:
Leg: CHECK
Heel Flap : CHECK
Turning Heel: CHECK
Picking up Gusset Stitches: Um, I think?
This is where I’m getting stuck. If I read this correctly, after I finished [...]

Can’t wait for the scarf to be done

While I love my friend Lynn, I’m dreading this scarf that I’m making her. It’s almost done, really. I’ve made a few mistakes that I really didn’t feel like ripping down to fix (I did that a few times already much to my chagrin), but they aren’t SO bad, I don’t think. It’ll just show [...]

OK, now I’m going nutty

I must be insane. No, I mean beyond the obvious insanity I’m known for.
I somehow have gotten it into my head that I’m going to make some knitted stuff for Christmas this year. That’s all fine and dandy, especially if it was just hats and scarves and easy stuff like that which I [...]

boring boring boring….and then there was KNITTY!

I’m working on an incredibly boring afghan. Eventually I’ll get to the intarsia bits and that will be a big improvement, but I’m bored with it in the meantime. Row after row of basketweave, monotonous, but enough that you have to pay attention to it and can’t, like, read while you’re doing it.
So I’m ho [...]

The new issue of FC Easy Knitting is here!

I can’t believe that I’m excited about a knitting magazine, no less something from Family Circle. But I liked the summer issue I had gotten of Family Circle Easy Knitting, and by chance, while going to the supermarket to pick up some milk and some dishwasher pacs, I decided to go see if there were [...]

Wouldn’t you know…

Turns out the bag I’m working on had a correction–remember how I was saying that I was knitting the wrong multiple? It _was_ a messed up pattern!
Accord Publishing - Knitting Corrections
Glad I figured it out. But the neato thing is that the publishing company published the whole pattern, corrected, to their Web site! It’s [...]
