Happy Spring! (Believe me, we are all still here.)

Hello Knitsters!
Granted, it’s been a while since any of us have written here. What can I say? 2009 is proving to be a very busy year for all of us. We’re all keeping up with each other via LJ, Twitter and Facebook, but it’s good to stop here every once in a while…when we have [...]

Whew, that was scary!

For some reason, we could not log in, and terror reigned that we’d lost knitster.org forever.
Fortunately, this was not the case. We’re back! And fully upgraded!

Knitting with Spam

there’s been a lot of spam slipping into the moderation queue lately (thank goodness it hasn’t been making it through to the actual blog).
i’m going to upgrade akismet tonight, and I hope that helps.

admin note

I’m upgrading knitster’s back end, as we’re wayyyyyyyy behind on doing so. Will update this once I’m finished; shouldn’t take too long!
Edit: ALL DONE! Let me know if you have any problems with the upgrade– you may need to refresh your cache, but I’ve brought us up from Wordpress 2.0.4 to 2.3.3.

no knitting, bleah

A big huge thankyou to Dani for keeping the site active while I’ve not been able to knit due to a pinched nerve in my neck. I’m finally done with physical therapy, but still a bit twingy.
But Dani’s note below that our site caught the eye of a knit-writer (I almost wrote knite-writer. too funny.) [...]

Site pingery

I’m doing a lot of site work today. I’m going to consolidate our bios into one page and restructure the links, and (hopefully) add a lot of resources. I’ve loaded a new template and I’m working on customizing it. Vroom vroom.

revising the template…

So much work that needs to be done with the site. Working on it now, inspired by the Superbowl Sunday Knit-In.
Update: Upgrade in process, please stand by!

Yay! New Computer!

Thanks to my new computer, I’ll be blogging a lot more. And I have a built-in camera, so that means more in-progress pictures!
Everybody happy dance with me.

Upgrades done, design in progress

Upgrade is finished, and I’ve activated Aksimet, which should help the spam problem.
While our old template did continue to work, I want to explore the added functionality available through other templates. This is a temporary look while we redecorate.
Those of you who post here will note some internal changes. Drop me a line at the [...]

Upgrades happening

I’m going to upgrade Knitster’s back end next weekend; it should help with the spam problem. We’ll be using WordPress version 2.0–currently we’re at 1.5. There may be some outages during that time.
I am likely also going to redesign the front end, as I don’t think our current template will work with 2.0 and the [...]
