Ask, and you might receive

I’ve been eyeballing this for minimally a year, if not more:

Isn’t it gorgeous? And what does this have to do with knitting? It’s a Jordana Paige Knitter’s Satchel. I was originally looking at one of the messenger bags, but in thinking that I already have several messenger bags, and needing a real purse of sorts for my new business ventures, I started thinking about purses, and remembered this one. I really like the red. That seems to be my color of choice these days. While I usually say my favorite color is blue, I find myself choosing a lot of red things more often than not. I think it’s me trying to exert my confidence or something. But anyway, I’ve been drooling over this thing for a while, and as I said, I figured that since I didn’t have a professional looking, up to date purse, that this might be something cool to get– dual purpose, no less.  But, it’s not exactly cheap (although not as expensive as getting something similar looking in real leather at Macy’s or Lord & Taylor for 2-3 times the price), so I asked JC if I could get it, even though we’re a little pinched for cash. He was game to a certain degree (heck, I made a good argument for it, like, it could be my Valentine’s present early, or something like that), but he advised that I should see what the environment at my new job would be first before getting it, as it might be overkill, especially since I’m only part-time. OK, fair enough.

So, I might get one of these gems. I might not. As I always tell Drew, it’s better ask than not ask. The worst answer you can get is “no”. Right now, I have a “maybe”. :-)

  1. Tempting :)

I’ve been on a red kick lately, too. I think it’s the winter weather.

I just bought a pair of red leather ankle boots on ebay, and have a matching red leather handbag on my “watch” list…

  2. [...] Do you remember a while ago I was drooling over a Jordana Paige Knitter’s Satchel as expressed in this post? Well, sometimes “dreams” come true! It’s also a case of persistence (and persuasion) pays off! I got after JC enough that I REALLY wanted the bag, and had been drooling over it for so long, I convinced him to get it for me for Valentine’s Day! And although he ordered it a few days before the “big” day, it finally arrived today! Hooray! And even by his standards, once I opened the shipping box, it was better than even he expected. I tell you, the quality of pleather has gotten better over the years, because he really thought it was real leather, and it definitely looks and feels like it. JC also told me that now that we have the bag in hand, he can see why I liked it so much, as it’s “very Dani”. [...]
