KNITSTER

really, i am still here.  and still knitting.  i swear.  i just, well, have been mired in life.  and writer’s block.

right now i have mariah still on the needles.  it is the sweater that will never be finished.  ever.  i need to finish the hood, and it will be done.  i might actually work on it tonight.  maybe.  socks are constantly being worked on, finished and worn, mittens get finished, felted and lost- luckily i make them in threes so  we don’t have to worry about not having enough.  i am going to start on the lizard ridge hat here sometime soon, as well as a cardigan out of some lovely angora that my mom got for me at a knitting conference.  i am imagining 3/4 sleeves and either a deep scoop neck or a deep v.  not sure.

spinning has been slow.  not because i haven’t had the urge, but because my body just has been letting me down.  but, i seem to be doing ok, even though my left hand is less than perfect and spent most of yesterday at my favorite place- detta’s spindle, trying out new wheels.  yes, i am adding a new wheel to my collection.  that will make four.  i had gone in to look at the schadt ladybug, their newest wheel, but at the very end of my visit, i tried out the louet s45, the wheel that got me interested in spinning in the first place.  the price is right, and well, it is going to come home with me either monday or next weekend.  i will admit i am excited, and i am finding that the longer i do this, the more expensive my toys get.

well- off to finish my latest pair of socks and maybe finish off mariah.
