We’re still here!

I think I can speak for all the Knitsters here that we’re all still around, but just each have very busy summers! And we’re all working on bits and pieces of different projects, but as any good knitter knows, some projects take longer than others.

As for myself, I have several projects going on at the same time. I’m still working on that sweater vest for my dad. I put it down for a while, but I put it down for too long, and almost lost my place on where I should be. I just picked it up again yesterday, and am trying to keep going with it. I’d like to finish pretty soon. If I can make the time to do it in the next week, I think there’s a good chance I might be able to finish it this week, just in time for my nephew’s birthday, when I’ll most likely see Dad again.  I’ve also been working up a simple lace pattern with some of the yarn I got at MDSW. It’s “rainbow” yarn, and it’s looking really nice so far. It’s a brainless pattern of YO, K2TOG on one row, purling, then K2TOG,YO on the next row, then purling, and doing that over and over. Like I said, it’s my brainless pattern when I want to bring something to do, but not anything complicated where I need to think too much (like the sweater at the juncture I’m at). I still have the shrug that I started a while ago, but I haven’t touched that in a while. But then again, that’s another “brainless” pattern, as long as I have the main little cheat sheet with me, but it’s very simplistic.  And I also started another project, but I put it on hold because I think I’ve screwed it up already. :-S I had gotten a few knitting books via Borders/Amazon, since I had the itch to buy something, and I had some funds still left on my gift certificate. So, I got the “Big Girls Knits” book (good stuff!), Knit 2 Together by Tracey Ullman and Mel Clark, and “Not Tonight Darling, I’m Knitting”. The latter two books were severely discounted and cost a total of about $9 (not even) together. And I’m doing the Doctor Bag out of the Knit 2 Together. But I’m not getting the hang of the herringbone pattern. Not quite. Something doesn’t look right, so I think I’ll probably have to frog it and start over. We’ll see.

So, at least speaking for this Knitster, I’m still knitting, but nothing much to show for it right now! Hopefully I can get some WIP photos up soon, when I have the time!
