The 1st Ever KnitsterCon is almost here!

I am very excited, as the first KnitsterCon ever is going to be happening over Friday and Saturday.  Just a few days away!

Have I packed? Not even close. Have I done anything to get ready? Well, I have directions to get there, and I deposited my paychecks to make sure I have money to spend at the MDSW! Does that count? I have so many people to see in one weekend, and all but two (Helen and my friend Lynn) are people I know only virtually, like Pickleboot, for example. Until I’m actually packed and on the road until I arrive at Chez Thompson-Mosher,I will be ON, meaning in scurry around like a Polish Chicken with its head cut off. But I know that once I get there and settle in, seeing everyone and relaxing and just having a total change of scenery is going to be FABOO. I’m getting excited! I’m going on a Mommy trip, and it’s not business related! :-)

Still working on Dad’s vest. I took a night off from it last night. My mother forgot that I was making it, and volunteered me and my other siblings to pitch in on another gift for my dad. I told her I’d do both, and that maybe that’d take the pressure off of me getting it done in two weeks’ time. It’s looking good so far, but I have to be careful not to get distracted. One night I had to frog a row twice before I got it right, and it’s a pattern of stitches I’ve done a lot in the last month or so, so I know the only reason I’d goof it up like that is being distracted by something.

I’ll bring a project to work on, probably that, or the makeshift shawl/shrug I started to make. I know the weather is supposed to be in the mid-60s over the weekend down there. A little chillier than normally for this time of year, especially down there, but that’s what layering is for, right? Just have to be sure to bring everything I need with me. ;-)

T minus 3 and counting…..
