After such a lousy day all the way around, I mustered up enough to ask JC if I could have a mini Mommy vacation. Not that I need permission, per se, but just to see how he felt about it, if we could afford it, if he had any plans, any reason to object to me going. As I suspected, he didn’t have any objections when I told him what I had in mind, that it wasn’t far, just for a weekend, and it shouldn’t cost much money. (Let’s hope I don’t shop too much! :-P)

I AM GOING TO THE 2007 MARYLAND SHEEP AND WOOL FESTIVAL!

Yes, you read that right. That is my mini Mommy vacation. I checked the website, and figured out that it’s about 3 hours away. I know that some of my virtual knitting friends from Pittsburgh went last year, and I’m hoping that they will be there this year too, at least some of them. That would be a cool way and place to meet, right? And either I’ll stay overnight around there, or I’ll shoot down to DC and see if I can crash at Lynn’s (of course, Lynn doesn’t know this is a possibility yet!).

I am happy about this. It is a weekend for ME. Free from any real ties. No big things going on that weekend at work (that I know of), no tournaments, no ties to have to worry about too much. Except for any ties made of wool!
