I should’ve taken a photo, but…

Just a little blurb about something I saw today that I found amusing.

I went to the IKEA in Elizabeth/Newark today, and in walking around, they always have displays to encourage small business users to use their furniture for, well, their businesses as a cost effective way to furnish your business in a stylish way. Well, sure enough, one of the displays they had at my store was a YARN store! Cool! I actually tried to even swipe a skein of yarn, but they had tied them down. ;-) (I didn’t think anyone would notice!)  But it was cool to see knitting getting the attention it did at one of my most favorite stores! Heck, if I find out that my LYS is selling her business and I can talk JC into buying it for me so we can start our own business, you bet I’d probably refurnish the place with IKEA style stuff. While it was my best bet for yarn, it was a little stuffy stylewise in there, so you never know….

In the meantime, my latest FO, which I didn’t get a chance to photograph, appears to be gone forever. I made this really nice ribbed hat for Drew which he liked, and it was made with Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Chunky. What does the kid do? He loses it on a substitute bus last week. Oh, I was pissed! I think the yarn used on that was at least $10-15 worth, not including labor on it. It was really soft and I think I did a good job on it, considering I took a pattern that was for DPNs and put it on 2 circs. Pissed to hell about it. And of course, today it was 9 degrees Farhenheit on the bus stop, and he had his hood up, but no hat. I found some Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick and Quick in my stash, so I’ll try to make him another hat, but I tell you, he’d better not lose this one! At least it won’t cost so much to lose this time. :-S
