socks
when i first started knitting, i knit a few pairs of socks. and hated every loooong minute. now that i am more seasoned, and understand the process so much more, i tackled the socks again.
and, to my surprise, i am really enjoying the process. i am realizing i am more of a process knitter- the more complicated and all that the more i like knitting. so- after a discussion with my husband about what he would wear that i could knit him, he suggested socks. i had totally forgotten that when we first got married, he wore wool hiking socks in 100+ degree weather. so off i went to find a sock pattern, and good wool that was washable and would not be too hard on the budget. once the important parts we aquired, off i went.
and am almost done with sock one. and there will be no second sock syndrome, because after i knit his, i have a pair for my son and daughter to do. and christmas socks, which most of my family have requested. i think i am going to have to find a good roving for these, as i woul rather at this point not buy more premade yarn, but spin my own. i am getting really into the whole process, and will be picking up my first fleeces thisweekend to comb, clean and card. so not where i expected to be at this point in my life, but there you go.
at some point soon i will post fo pics, but i am lazy about it. that, and i really have not embraced the electronic age as much as i could, and have just in the past week got a flicker account. so soon, a bevy of fo’s, and some process pics of things i am really proud os. who knows, maybe even a steeking tutorial, as i am in love with cutting my knitting.
