Simple concept, but DUH
In working on the blanket from hell, I mean, the baby blanket for my nephew to be, I encountered the second occurrence where the needle from my interchangeable disconnected and I had to get the stitches back on the needle. In the process, I realized what the problem was, and it wasn’t the needle. It was that the stitches were too tight. How is it that the stitches were too tight? I think it’s stress/tension related on my part. The more tense my feelings are, the tighter my stitches. I think this is when I discovered that this is the Zen part of knitting. In order to avoid this kind of problem, you need to relax more and loosen up. Your stitches reflect you. The more you let go, either you relax and get it right, or you get too loose and don’t care, and it reflects, or you knit too tight not allowing for flexibility. What a great lesson to learn!
Maybe now’s the right time to read that Tara Jon Manning book I got last year from my sister.
