Amelia’s sweater is done!
Here’s the little red sweater that I made for my cousin/niece, Amelia. She is going to be moving to Spain in a month or two, and in her 4 years of life she has never been in weather cooler than probably 75 degrees, so I figured that she’d need a nice, wooly warm sweater to help her keep warm in the springtime. It was made with Debbie Bliss superchunky Cashmerino. Buttons courtesy of le Walmart. It looks really classic, doesn’t it? I figured it would be good for Spain, and maybe she could wear it to school in the fall too. I like how it turned out. I’m going to ask Amelia’s mom to take a photo of her in it, once she gets it, so that way I can post it here, so you can see my little dark haired princess in it.
I really hope she likes it!
Oh, and I might also add that I had a hard time getting the color right in this photo. I took the photo with my RAZR phone, and then had to adjust it a little with Photoshop. It’s a bright tomato red, and the trim is a dark sage/olive color. This was the best I could do with Photoshop to justify the color.
And I’d like to also add furthermore that this is kinda-sorta the first time I’ve done a design on my own. I used Ann Budd’s “The Knitter’s Handy Book of Sweater Patterns”, and just adapted the sweater on her instructions for basic direction. The choice of trim styles and color were all up to me, and I finally figured out how to make a YO (duh on my part after all this time) to make the button holes at the right spots. Go me.
