i did it

well, i did it.

i ordered my new wheel today. i am so excited. of course, it is going to be custom made, and will take 3-4 months to get here, but i am getting a new baby. a lennox bonnie travel castle wheel. and from my favorite place ever, detta’s spindle- www.dettasspindle.com. go check her out- she has got an amazing selection of wheels, drop spindles, fiber and even yarn! and a great selection of books, videos and dvd’s to fulfill all of your fiber addict needs!

it is a good thing that it is going to be here this summer- i have to get through the minnesota knitters’ guild yarnover- i am on the planning committe, and of course, buying more fiber to begin actual production. yep- you heard it here first, i am going into business for myself! doing what i love- making art, this time in the form of yarn………..

i have been working on lacey from knitty- it is slow going, but worth it. nice mohair- absolutely a joy to work with- and cheap! what could be better?

i am in the midst of planning my fair isle skirt- it is going quickly in the planning stages, but i know once knitting starts i am in for it. size 00-2 needles, and sock yarn, i must be crazy!

photos to follow as soon as i dig out the right cord- kids ran off with it, and i have no idea where it is!

happy knitting!

  1. You know, it was Helen that inspired me to knit, Cheryl who inspired me to learn to crochet (although I still have to figure that out), and you have me inspired to look at spinning now. I was just pricing some drop spindles and roving to get an idea of a cheap one to get started. I might just be writing you more often to get ideas and advice on this one, should I decide to forge ahead and invest in a beginner spindle and roving!

  2. OH I AM SO JEALOUS>>>NEW WHEEL>>>>
