Tubey!

Well, Tubey is a great project for doing in front of the Tube, while watching Olympics. After several projects where I’ve been challenging myself to do fancy stuff, it’s hard to mess up stockinette, and so I hammered out the requisite 21.5 inches of flat stockinette in two days and put them on the dpns last night to start the first sleeve. I honestly don’t know if I will like what I’m doing, because while I like the grey I’m knitting this up in, I’m worried that the stripes won’t look good on it, but I don’t want to do this in solid grey, either. Still, it’s a fast knit and if it comes out well I might actually buy good wool and knit it up in that.

It took me three tries to get the provisional cast-on OTN ok, but I did, finally.

Gauge problem: I’m knitting to gauge lengthwise, but not widthwise. I’ve decided to go ahead and give it a try anyway and just knit the smaller size, since length is pretty easy to adjust if need be.
