It rhymes with Fox

No, it’s not ham hocks, or locks, but yes, you guessed it, socks. And that’s what I’m going to attempt next. I’m almost done the first full row of pattern for the baby blanket I started, and it’s looking good, but I think that considering that it’s going to take a while to complete that (I have about 5 more rows to go after this first row!), I’m ready to take a break and make the attempt at the socks. I will have sock yarn in hand, two circs and my new book in hand to make the attempt. The circs are probably too big– size 6– but that’s all I have doubles of, especially since I haven’t been away from the house in days and will probably be stuck for another day with this blizzard of ‘06 snow, and as it is, I have to liberate my extra 6s from the blanket project (no biggie since they are Denise needles). Wish me luck! I’m going in!

  1. if all you have are 6’s, you can use worsted and make thick, warm socks.

or- you could talk someone into sending you and extra set of sz 1 dpns she has lying around…….. don’t know who that is.

  2. :-) Thanks for the offer! However, I’ll pass for now– you never know if you’ll need the extras. It’s just a matter of me getting out of the house sometime before next month (at the rate things are going between recent illnesses and now snow). Besides, I learned how to knit at all on big needles, I guess it doesn’t hurt to learn how to make socks on big needles to start. Once I have the hang of it, then it won’t be so bad getting the smaller ones. But thank you of thinking of me! :-)
