Patterns, patterns, patons

Helen here–I’m thinking about starting a sweater for real when I’m done with the blanket. Bear in mind that I’ve never ever pulled off a successful garment that isn’t worn on the foot or around the neck. The hat came close, but it doesn’t fit right.

Anyways. So then I see Tubey from knitty.com and it reminds me so much of a sweater I loved and accidentally shrunk combined with one of my favorite shirts that is now falling apart.

But can I do it? Drool!!!

  1. I think you can do it! I know you know how to knit in the round, and the construction seems simple enough. Just really be sure to check your gauge and take those measurements. The thing that I’ve messed up on with making garments are those two things, which are pretty basic!

  2. of course you can do it! just, well, do it. (this is where i confess i never knit a gauge swatch. ever. and i hit it right on. but- i’m daring that way.)

  3. Addendum: someone posted this on the LJ Knitting community just today, and it looks rather nice in a solid color, FYI. http://community.livejournal.com/knitting/6521991.html

  4. Oh, cool. I have a ton of simply soft in my stash, too. I like the stripes a lot, but I may do more than one, as I particularly like the neckline.
