My Teddy Bear is done! and other tidbits

The teddy bear is done! I finished him last night. I screwed up on him a bit. I didn’t attach the limbs and parts on him in the right spots, I don’t think, and my embroidery work leaves much to be desired. His paws and claws looked acceptable, but his whole face was embroidered too low. Well, in the end, it didn’t matter much, as Drew loves him and calls him “Beary”, and carries Beary around on his shoulders and has already slept with him two nights in a row, considering I just finished Beary right before Drew went to bed. I made Beary a scarf too, using that obnoxious teal Disco fun fur I got for free. I now know how to knit with fun fur! The scarf feels like I cut the tail off a Muppet, but it’s kinda cool too, I have to admit. At least I have the hang of it. I’ve put some photos on Flickr.com, now I have to get my pointers in how to post with it.

In the meantime, I’m working on Christmas presents now. I’m attempting funky colorwork for a hat for one of the many baby girls in our lives. It has hot pink, pale seafoam green, colonial blue and turquoise in it. The first hat isn’t done, and I’m trying something with it, so we’ll see how it comes out. I was going to attempt to make mittens and hats for all these girls, But I can’t for the life of me figure out how to use DPNs or a circ for the project! Aaaagh! DPNs just mystify me. I mean, I understand how they should work in theory, but I can’t make it happen. I was going to figure out how to do a flat pattern of some sort, but figured it’d be easier just to make hats and scarves. Oh well.

  1. Use the tag [img src="http://picturefilename.jpg"] in pointy brackets. If you click on the pictures in flicker, they give you the http address underneath it that you can just cut and paste.

  2. Sweet! Easy enough! Thanks for the help! Be ready to see a few months’ worth of FOs soon!
