Updates on my blankies!
I am one ball into my yellow cable blanket, which translates into about a foot. That means I will need four or five balls total, depending on how big I will need it to be, and given that it’s taken me close to a month to get this far, I’m not sure whether I can finish it even by christmas! But it’s much easier going now that i understand the pattern.
But since its recipient was around much of the weekend, I returned my attention to the patches for my aunt’s christmas present, and bored with the basketweave patches for this knit-quilt afghan I managed a first attempt at intarsia. Like everything else, I had to frog the entire thing once before I got it right, but I managed to fix a massive mistake in the middle of the color patch during the second try without having to frog what looked like a disastrous mess. I botched one color change that has a hole in it now (that I can patch pretty easily), but the rest are fine. There’s also one place that the background color doesn’t seem to line up right, but I am not going to sweat that either.

Wow, you are doing a lot now! Basketweave patterns, attempting intarsia…you go girl!
The sweater is done, even without finishing the crocheted edge, and it survived the washer and dryer (advantage of acrylic yarn!). It looks good, but it’s too big. I really have to learn how to size things better for myself. It’s proportional, but I think it’s for a big plus-size person, not someone like me who’s on the border of misses and plus. Send me a note to remind me how to post photos!

I have misplaced my knitster password and can only get into the database from home right now. I know there’s an “upload” tag on the dashboard, but you may want to get a flickr account at flickr.com, because that will resize the photos as well.
