Even closer to done, and then some

The sweater is just about done for all intensive purposes. I’ve done one row of the crocheted edge, but nothing further from that, and I’m not sure if I’m going to do more, since it’s SO hard to see what the heck you are doing using this particular yarn. I can tell from the one crocheted row that it is a nice, finishing touch. But when working with black boucle yarn, it’s going to be difficult to see where to hook spots together to make the button holes. But other than that, it’s all sewn together, it fits (although the sleeves are just a tad long, but that’s okay), and I’m through the worst of it.

I’m still working on the first full teddy bear as well. I tell you, I’m becoming a lazy knitter. I realized that I made some errors in what I was doing, but nothing TOO major, I think, so I just keep going. Imperfections will make it unique anyway, and again, I have some cockamamie need to use boucle yarn as much as I’m not a fan of knitting with it (although this one is better than the LB Homespun type stuff). I mean, who wouldn’t like a knubby, soft, teddy bear? I think it’ll be cute in the end.

Yes, I bought two more books. My knitting book collection is almost as big as my cookbook collection, at the rate things are going. I got the Holiday Knits by Sara Lucas, and New Knits on the Block by Vickie Howell. Both are for getting ideas of stuff I might be able to knit for holiday gifts for people. Knitorama has some cute stuff, but some of it’s weird, like a chocolate cake. I guess that’s be good for a diabetic or something, but too many quirky things in there for me to buy it for only one or two things in it that I like. There are other books I’d like to get. I almost got the new reprinted version of Vogue Knitting’s Quick Knits– that looks like a great book of basic stuff that looks really good. But anyway, always looking for more ideas.
