More knitting lessons

I was at the MIL’s house again last night, and she now understands the knitting addiction, even though she is still trying to figure out her knit stitch. She is slowly getting better, but it’s taking some time. Just to encourage her, I bought some more Thick N Quick yarn for her. She likes the cheap needles I had gotten her from Target, but they are very pointy, that’s for sure. Ouch! I did teach her how to add a color, or at least a stripe, so that encouraged her that it wasn’t so hard. She is very keen on completing her first scarf, so we’ll see how she does it. If she can master the knit stitch, I’ll give her the purl stitch. I’ve show it to her, but I don’t know if she’s ready for that yet. Once she has that and binding off, she’ll be most of the way there, and then I will have to explain terminology so that she can read a pattern. I gave her a super easy one from a ripoff sheet from Michael’s yesterday for a scarf, and she was like, “You can read that? You understand that?” , as if she were thoroughly amazed. It just takes some practice, after all. So, we’ll see how it goes.
