I finished my mother’s poncho today. Hooray! It’s being washed and dried as we speak (yes, I checked the label of the yarn first, and it’s supposed to be kosher to do it with this). I had some problems with the collar and one of the shoulders, but I think I recovered it decently enough. I modelled it for JC to see what he thought. It wasn’t until after he looked more carefully that he saw the one shoulder wasn’t as well done from trying to fix problems, but he was amazed at how the other shoulder was “flawless”, to use his word. I asked him if he thought it needed the hood, and he didn’t think so, so I skipped it. I would like to have some stress free knitting for a while, and by skipping the hood, I’ve actually beat my deadline by a few days. Hooray! I got both my big projects that were due at the same time with some extra time to spare! I can be a little less hurried now before my trip.

Once it’s finished in the dryer, I’ll have to take a photo of the poncho, and one of these days I’ll post all this stuff.
