Back from Florida

I’m back from the “magical” world of Disney in Florida. And the only thing magical that I found about it was how fast it sucks money from our pockets big time. I’m glad to be home!

I ended up bringing the Yarn Girls bunting project because it was a lot smaller to bring along with me. I stayed up the night before scanning the pages in the book so I could bring just the main directions with me instead of the whole book– save space. In the end, I didn’t get much knitting done, although in retrospect, if I had room in my backpacks or bag when I was there, I should have done it while waiting in line at Disney at all the rides, etc. At one point, I had frogged back about half of what I had done, because there was a big gaping hole, and we can’t have that. Must have jumped or lost some stitches during some turbulance. We would get home so late at night that we were tired and I just wasn’t up for it. So on yesterday’s trip back, and a little bit today, I’ve started back on that. I think the poncho will finish up quickly, whereas this one won’t, and it needs to be done first, so I’ll continue on this one. It’s cute so far, how it’s knitting up with the colors, that is.

I didn’t have any problems whatsoever bringing my stuff. Having Denise needles helped tremendously, and I brought an old toenail clipper as my “scissors” if I needed them, which at one point I did. Only security problem I had was with a hair barrette!

I am hoping to get back into the swing of things, so I’m looking forward to getting knitting back into my schedule again.
