Decisions, decisions

I am about to leave for Florida tomorrow, and I’m going to bring some knitting with me. You might think it insane, since we’re going to Disney after all, but this will give me something to do while waiting for the plane, while on the plane, and since Drew needs to go to bed early, something to do at night since I don’t have to go to bed so early. I’ve started another poncho– this one is a big purple/plum colored adult poncho that’s off a free pattern I got at Michael’s. I also have another project that I need to start for Drew’s teacher who is expecting. I want to make the bunting that’s in the Yarn Girls’ Kids Knits book. The problem is, I’m not sure which one I should bring with me. The poncho is easy and already started, but it’s going to be big and bulky to carry. I normally wouldn’t care, but since luggage space may end up at a premium, I’m not sure. On the flip side, the Yarn Girls’ project involved double yarn, which I have to figure out how to cast-on and get started. I was reading the pattern yesterday, and I think it’s doable, especially if I start now, but I’ll also have to copy the pattern so that I don’t have to bring the whole book with me. Since it’s a project that’s just being started and it’s for a baby, it wouldn’t take as much space.

So the dilemma– bring something I’ve already started and could make headway with despite it being bulky, or bring something new that might be a little more complicated.

Decisions, decisions…..

  1. BTW, knitting needles are not generally a problem on the plane, but you may want to check with your airport to make sure. I’ve seen conflicting reports, and it’s the sort of thing that always gets shot down on discussion lists as a verboten topic for being so overdiscussed.

If it were me, I’d bring ‘em both and leave something else behind. :)
