Done one…onto the next!
I finally finished my first sweater. Because I botched up the back piece (which I knew, and of course, that side was done first), it kind ruined the shoulder part. It still came out decently, considering it was my first sweater, and a sleeveless turtleneck at that. I think the turtleneck part came out decently, and the overall body of the sweater was good. I made it in extra large, and like Helen’s tank, it came out extra wide. I wonder what genius thinks that extra large just means wider? Anyway, JC (the hubby) was impressed, and Drew (our son) was also impressed. Drew was so impressed that he said, “Mom, can you make a sweater for me?” It was so cute. This is not exactly a kid who wears sweaters, so I said sure. I found a good, easy pattern on the Lion Brand Yarn site, and we bought the yarn together, me letting Drew choose which yarn I was going to use. He chose a rainbow pattern yarn called Green Mountains from the Jiffy Thick N’ Quick collection. Drew is obsessed with rainbow yarn, so it figures. This is a “rainbow” of greens, blues and purples, so it should look pretty cool. I’ve already started on it, and I think if I can keep it up, especially since this is smaller than an adult sweater, I should finish it pretty quickly.
Photos are coming!
